“I like your New
Wheels!!”, everyone is saying that when they see my truck.
The wheels aren’t new, I purchased them from T.E.A. Mfg. in
Houston, Texas.
I’ve been buying their
refurbished wheels for years. I can’t see spending $400 to $600 for each new
wheel when I can pay much less for their refurbished, polished wheels. I
understand that they have similar machinery to the polishing machines that Alcoa
and Accurride use on their new wheel manufacturing line, but in many cases their
polishing is superior to even a new wheel. (see picture of machine below)
The system used at T.E.A. first steam-cleans the entire wheel and then
completely refurbishes the wheel on the exposed side and removes ALL nicks,
dings and scratches, and restores the surface to a mirror like finish, All
wheels are also checked for straightness, cracks, bad bolt holes and roundness.
In many cases the wheels are still covered under the original manufacturer’s 5
year warranty.

Buyers, please keep in
mind that refurbished does not in any way imply that the wheels look exactly
like new wheels in every respect. If that were the case, no one would buy new
wheels. We at TAW go to great lengths to save you money
and never sacrifice safety or quality. We have been refurbishing wheels for over
25 years, and we feel that we give our customers a good product for the price.
We take care that refurbished wheels are free from dings and scratches with a
bright shiny smooth finish on the exposed side.
If you want extreme high quality and show appearance, please order new wheels.
If after purchasing refurbished wheels, you decide that new wheels are what you
really want and you wish to upgrade to new wheels, we will give you full credit
for your purchase upon return of the refurbished wheels with the exception of
the freight, provided that you have not yet mounted the wheels or changed them
in any way.
Many refurbished Aluminum wheels still possess the Original Alcoa 5-year warranty against defects.
